Brand Identity and Logo Design
In the hearts and minds of your consumers, you have a brand whether you consciously create it or not.
Your brand has a perceived position in the market and it is what differentiates you from your competitors. A brand is a perception about what your company or products represent and it’s about more than what you physically supply. It is a reflection of the company’s essence, personality and strength.
A logo is a graphical element created for immediate recognition and is only one part of a brand. Successful companies and campaigns develop logos that help make their brand come alive visually in a competitive market.
There are three basic types of logos:
- ideograph: graphic representing an idea, such as Airnorth.
- logotype: typographical, text based, such as CSG.
- dynamic: animated or changing, such as Sprout.
Corporate branding is a mix of the visual (logo, vehicles, uniforms, etc.), the perceived (external perception formed by your external communication), the experience, the heritage and culture, and the product.

Developing a new logo or refreshing a brand is not difficult

Your brand is your core identity. Developing your brand should involve creating a brand strategy. It shouldn’t just be a creative exercise or tagline that designers can change or create without knowing who you are, what you stand for and who your customers are.
The tighter you can build your brand to appeal to your market the more effective it will be.
